As the Customer Marketing & Retention Expert at First Page Strategy, you’ll design, develop, own, and implement customer retention strategies to increase loyalty and retain business for our clients. This role will have a  lot of collaboration with cross functional-team members, specifically our Email Expert, Content Expert, Branding Expert to develop and implement integrated retention strategies across all channels. It requires daily ClickUp and Slack communication; integration into our 20+ person marketing team and hands-on client work; monthly deliverables and reporting; weekly deliverables, etc. 


Collaborate with our Head of Brand on the following projects: 

  • Own all projects that market to our customers and think through new, exciting ways to achieve customer success:
    • Cross-Sell/Up-selling services to customers to convert again and drive up LTV. The main challenge our client faces as an organization is the vast majority of the revenue is derived from products opted in during the checkout process. We need to build a program that forms a relationship with our users to sell products/services beyond the initial order, taking a look at adoption rates and revenue from each individual product. 
    • Client Dashboard Marketing - Banner CTAs/content within dashboard login
    • Launching an SMS Marketing campaign
    • Various loyalty campaigns
    • Manage the routine customer survey process
    • Product Optimization from customer feedback 
    • Manage Customer Storytelling Campaign, “Championing the Customer” to tell customer stories through video, social media, content
    • Surprise & Delight moments through giveaways, grants, moderated groups, webinars, etc.
  • Collaborate with the customer service team on customer reviews (reviewing, increasing), customer experience, chatbot mapping and handoff, etc. 
  • Collaborate with the Email Expert on customer nurture campaigns: onboarding, 90-day campaign, etc.
  • Collaborate with Email Expert to launch new personalization campaigns, focused on segments/verticals and upselling partner opportunities
  • Collaborate with Product Marketing Expert on Customer Journeys and persona/journey mapping for user experience
  • Own content strategy for all marketing to our clients’ customers: blog posts, newsletters, email nurture (onboarding) etc and collaborate closely with the Content Expert and Email Expert on achieving our goals


  • Own the Lifetime Value, Retention, Churn/Renewal rate KPIs and build strategies for us to increase these metrics
  • Understand “Churn Rate” and methodologies to reduce this
  • Understand the complete marketing funnel and your funnel step: Growth (after purchase) and how we can support our mission and our clients’ customer growth metrics
  • Build a yearly plan, report quarterly on priorities and progress
  • Present PowerPoint strategies/updates to the client on a bi-monthly/quarterly basis


  • Minimum 5-7+ years of previous experience with customer marketing
  • Minimum 3-5 years experience using HubSpot, or competitive marketing automation platform, and willingness to get inbound marketing certified through HubSpot before starting
  • Innate understanding of best practices and latest trends with customer marketing
  • Strong writing, editing, and client communication skills
  • High attention to detail and dedication to accuracy/quality
  • A willingness to be part of a fully remote team and care about who you work with on the other side of the computer — participation in team building video calls, Slack conversations, etc.
  • You will need to be accessible between the 10am-2pm CT for company “Sync Hours” (see our Sync Hours policy for more details!)
  • Technology-savvy, with the ability to learn quickly and juggle tasks in ClickUp (our PM tool), use mobile as necessary, and effectively use Zoom, Slack, and other online tools
  • A flexible attitude at a small, growing team as team and responsibilities internally shift


  • The annual compensation range for this role is $80,000 - $110,000
